We Must Develop Koryo Medicine 

In February 1979 the great leader Comrade Kim Il Sung made a speech on further developing Koryo medicine at a consultative meeting of senior public health officials.

He said that it would be possible to prevent various diseases and protect the people’s health only when traditional Koryo medicine was developed.

He continued: The traditional medicine is now widely studied in different countries.

In the period of the anti-Japanese armed struggle, medicines were not readily available, so we had to use crushed tree bark and grass roots to treat the wounded. The traditional medicine has been developing in our country from the remote past.

Underscoring the need to raise the qualifications of Koryo therapists and train them in large numbers in the future, he indicated the tasks for developing Koryo medicine.
