Meticulous Concern for People’s Health

One day in June 1965, the great leader Comrade Kim Il Sung received a report that artificial teeth and prosthetic materials had been manufactured with raw materials abundant in the country.

After examining various types of ceramic teeth and specimens of prosthetic material, Comrade Kim Il Sung asked an official how they were when compared with other types of artificial teeth. 

The official said that the ceramic teeth were five times stronger than plastic teeth used so far, and highly resistant to discoloration, wear, crack and break. Hearing him, Comrade Kim Il Sung said with great pleasure that they looked like real teeth.

Then he took a sample of ceramic teeth and asked the official if it was compared with what was made in foreign countries.

The official answered that the domestic one was better than foreign one. Comrade Kim Il Sung said: You have solved a great problem this time. Whenever I saw people suffering from dental diseases, I have thought of how to provide our people with strong teeth capable of ensuring natural beauty and their health. And now you have fulfilled my wish.

He expressed great satisfaction over the successes made in the research conducive to the promotion of the people’s health.
