With High Skills and Sincerity

Ki Su Ryon, a doctor at the Koryo Internal Medicine Department of South Hwanghae Provincial General Hospital, cured a girl who had not been able to speak, sit and walk properly due to scoliosis caused by cerebral palsy.

When she first saw the girl who came to the hospital together with her mother, she was frightened by her state as she was suffering left hemiplegia, severe muscle atrophy of the limbs and so on.

The treatment to restore her stiffened spine, which had remained deformed for 10 years, required a new method. Ki Su Ryon worked out a plan for combining acupuncture with various Koryo medicines with the main emphasis put on scalpel treatment for the treatment of the girl. Fifteen days after the beginning of the treatment, the girl’s stiffened toes began to move. Some time later, the curved spine gradually stretched and the legs changed in appearance. She applied a rehabilitation therapy suited to the condition of the girl and her age and psychological characteristics. She also taught her spoken and written Korean language and provided her with nourishing foods. In more than a hundred days the girl’s spine stretched and she could walk properly, sing songs and even play the electronic organ.

On the day when she left the hospital, many people admired the doctor’s high medical skills and sincerity.
