The neuromedicine department of Pyongyang University of Medical Sciences Hospital is known as a competent group.

In particular, its chief Pak Jae Yong won the February 16 Science and Technology Prize in his 30s for developing medicines for cerebrovascular diseases and won the special prize and gold medal at the 10th National Exhibition of Inventions and New Technologies.

He is now in his 50s. Busy as he has been treating patients as he did in his youthful days, he has written many books including the “Reference Book on Neural Science” and presented multifunctional active treatment device and other effective medical appliances and medicines to the National Sci-tech Festival, the National Exhibition of Sci-tech Achievements in the Field of Public Health and other events, for which he has taken first place.

And he is a model for the medical workers of the department.

They have contributed papers on predictive assessment of stroke and cerebral hemorrhage and other medical problems to international academic journals, and invented many medical appliances.

These achievements have served as a basis for their success in patient care.

It can be said that the immediate resuscitation of critically ill patients and their early recovery are attributable to the high ability of doctors of the department which deals with many serious cases.

Shortly ago, they cured in 15 days a patient who had been admitted in without consciousness due to subarachnoid hemorrhage. They have also treated many other patients, bringing joy to them and their families.

Pak Jae Yong always emphasizes to the medical workers of the department that each of them should guarantee the lives of the patients.
