By Introducing Advanced Method for Painless Childbirth

Hong Su Ryon, doctor of obstetrics department No. 2 of Pyongyang Maternity Hospital, has introduced an advanced method for painless childbirth.

A few years ago, while reading medical books, she found that spinal epidural anesthesia had been newly developed and it was superior to epidural anesthesia, which was applied in clinical practice in those days.

In the country there was no way of boosting the analgesic effect by injecting medicines into the spinal cord. But she boldly buckled down to research into the new method.

Through several clinical processes, she decided on the rational dosage of intraspinal injection to be applied to analgesia during vaginal delivery, identified the efficacy of spinal epidural anesthesia and completed the Korean-style painless delivery method on an advanced level.

This new method is favoured by parturients.
