More Than 70 Days of Kindred Affection

In December last year, several patients were carried to Nampho Municipal General Hospital. The patients were at critical conditions with burns on 50 to 70 percent of their bodies.

Their vital signs were almost zero.

The general surgery department immediately held a consultation, appointed physicians and nurses in charge and took treatment measures.

Thanks to the intensive treatment by the medical team, patients were rescued from the toxic and septic phases.

However, the patients needed large areas of skin grafting.

Officials of the hospital were the first to donate their skin, followed by more than 70 medical workers and many people in the municipality.

The area of the grafted skin amounted to 3 173 cm2.

They were neither the relatives of the patients nor their acquaintances.

But they did not hesitate to help the patients as they regarded others’ sufferings as their own. Thanks to their sincerity the patients were resuscitated.

Besides, many others offered expensive medicines and nutritive foodstuffs to the patients.

After more than 70 days of such affection, the patients recovered and were discharged.

On the day they left the hospital, they said that they were reborn under the socialist healthcare system.
