By Introducing New Technologies into Pediatric Dental Treatment

In dental clinical practice, there are many cases with infection of pulp, vascular nerve bundles in teeth, which is caused by various reasons such as dental caries, trauma and tooth deformity.

Furthermore, if children with pulp infection are not treated promptly, this will cause damage to their pulp vessels and result in poor development of permanent teeth and ultimately their failure to function properly.

Kim Yong Hui, a pediatric dentist at the Ryugyong Dental Hospital, worked hard to develop a method of regenerating pulp vessels when the pulp became infected or necrotic in immature permanent teeth of children.

She came to the conclusion that a certain material can produce an amazing effect in the treatment. After years of painstaking efforts, she established an advanced pulp revascularization technique which can eliminate pulp infection and ensure the normal development of immature permanent teeth.

This method using stem cells in the tooth root has the advantage of short period of treatment.

The method was highly appreciated at the National Exhibition of Sci-tech Achievements in the Field of Public Health-2025 and its advantages are being clearly proved in pediatric dental practice.
