Producing Efficacious Koryo Medicines

The Jangsu Koryo Medicine Pharmaceutical Factory in Pothonggang District, Pyongyang, is one of the renowned Koryo medicine pharmaceutical factories in the country.

When the factory was inaugurated in December 1971, its main products were crude Koryo medicines such as decoction and powdered medicines.

But it has recently been renovated and furnished with modern equipment, making it possible to improve the quality of its products.

While producing Koryo medicines in a highly scientific way and in the form of extracts, the factory is now turning out efficacious medicines by collecting medicinal materials abundant in the country at the right time.

Its products, typically Salvia miltiorrhiza and Cnidium officinale drop pills for heart, Samhyang Uhwangchongsim-hwan, Ryukmi-hwan, Yulmuchangchulgo tonic jelly, bifidus capsules and Pyritum pills for osteoporosis, are popular among people for their good medicinal properties.

In particular, Salvia miltiorrhiza and Cnidium officinale drop pills for heart won a national patent.

The factory has been highly appreciated at various events like spring and autumn international trade fairs.
