Blessed Quintuplets

Pak Kyong Sim (28) gave birth to quintuplets in eight months of gestation after receiving maintenance treatment for multiple pregnancy.

However, the quintuplets were very low-birth-weight children weighing only 1.3 kg on average.

The Pyongyang Maternity Hospital assigned a doctor in charge, a senior doctor, an assistant doctor, three nurses and cooks to each baby for their treatment and healthcare.

A lot of expensive medicines flowed into the babies, who sometimes turned cyanose due to dyspnea and occasionally had massive spasm.

Leaving the Pyongyang Maternity Hospital together with her healthy babies after about 140 days, Pak Kyong Sim said:

“A few words or expressions are not enough to fully describe the sincere devotion of the medical workers to me and my babies. I have no idea of the cost of treatment, hospitalization and medicines for us.”

After discharge, the quintuplets were transferred to the Pyongyang Baby Home on the banks of the picturesque Taedong River.

The Pyongyang Baby Home prepared a separate room for them and appointed a full-time nurse, doctor and cook to them.

Thanks to their scientific nursing, the quintuplets have now exceeded standard height and weight in the normal intellectual development.
