With Sincerity for Human Beings

In June two women visited the dermatology department of Pyongyang Municipal Koryo Medicine Hospital.

They were Ri Kum Sil living in Ragwon-dong, Pothonggang District, Pyongyang, and her daughter Pak Hyo Un.

The doctors of the department were surprised to see Pak Hyo Un.

The whole of her face, as well as the neck and back, was covered with pus, and it was terrible to see. In addition, she developed tolerance to medicines as she used this medicine and that for a long time, and her condition was worsening.

This was a rare case.

Department chief Ri Yun Chol immediately called an emergency consultation meeting of doctors.

The health workers of the department devoted all their sincerity to the patient, combining appropriate antibiotics with a unique Koryo therapy. The doctors made efforts to find a new treatment method for accelerating her recovery. They often told her funny stories, saying that the more she laughed the more quickly she could get well. Indeed, they were like her kith and kin.

One morning, twenty or so days later, she glanced at herself on the mirror and exclaimed despite herself: Her condition, which had seemed to be getting worse, was at last improving, and purulent crusts began to be skinned over.

Seeing the doctors overjoyed to see the improving patient, her mother shed tears of gratitude.

One month after that, Hyon Un was cured of her illness which had tormented her for years, and left the hospital.

In addition to her, the health workers of the department have treated many patients who had suffered obstinate skin diseases.
