By Using Bioactive Glass-ceramics

The Ryugyong Dental Hospital has developed a new material for dental treatment which proves effective in clinical practice.

They established a method of treating dental diseases using the bioactive glass-ceramics with wonderful properties.

The biomaterial was developed by Ri Myong Chol, first deputy director of the hospital. He figured out a rational mixing ratio of the toxic-free material that is good for forming dentine and preventing caries and perfected the method of manufacturing it.

He then intensified the research to apply the biomaterial to the clinical practice, thus fully solving the sci-tech problems arising in the process.

The bioactive glass-ceramics that resulted in a remarkable technical progress in dental treatment, particularly in the treatment of pulpitis and apical periodontitis, was registered as a national sci-tech hit.
