Helipad of Okryu Children's Hospital

One day in July 2013, the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un visited the Okryu Children's Hospital under construction.

There was a story about his visit to the construction site that day in spite of the strong wind and torrential rain.

Saying that he would take charge of the supply of the latest equipment to be installed in the hospital, he took measures to install the equipment. Then he asked an official in the designing field if a helipad was planned to be built in the hospital.

The question was so unexpected that the official said nothing.

Underscoring the need to envisage a helipad for transporting emergency patients in major hospitals such as the children's hospital, he said that it seemed that a helipad was not planned in the design and that it should be envisaged.

In the past, when there was a serious case that could not be treated in a regional hospital, a helicopter carrying a team of competent medical workers was sent, while an ambulance waiting in an airport to carry the patient to a hospital.

He took measures to build a helipad in the children’s hospital for the lives of children.
